DESIGN OF 253 DESIGNERS ON ALL SCREENS OF AMSTERDAM CS

[AMSTERDAM] – Staring silently on the platform with half an eye at a faded poster is no longer of this time. Design is in flux. Figuratively, but also literally. On Thursday 7 November, Amsterdam Central Station will be all about motion design during the Design in Motion festival (DEMO). This is a form of
graphic design that uses animations instead of still images. The 80 well-known digital screens in the station transform from a commercial break to an art gallery for 24 hours.

DEMO's final selection includes the best of the best of modern motion design: 400 creations by 253 designers from 37 countries. Throughout the day, innovative and surprising works can be admired on all platforms, in the passages, the central hall and the IJ hall, divided into different themes. Need text and explanation? A special guided tour departs every half hour, and there is a freely accessible lecture program in the Royal waiting room. The tours and talks can be booked via www.demofestival.com.

The exhibition is an initiative of Studio Dumbar (part of Dept) in collaboration with Exterion Media NL. For more information: www.demofestival.com

Media partners: It's Nice That, Fontanel, BNO, Visual Atelier 8
