"More than 55 international experts are part of SDGC16"
The 9th edition of the Service Design Global Conference (SDGC) will take place on 27 and 28 October 2016 in the Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam. With more than 600 guests, more than 55 speakers and with a network from 42 countries, the two-day conference is the leading annual event for the global service design community.
Service design is a design discipline that deals with shaping services. From a customer-focused perspective, service designers work on improving services with the aim of increasing value for both the customer and the service provider. Examples of service design in practice are the coordination of all interaction that a customer has with his / her bank, the optimization of the customer experience of a patient in a hospital or the development of a multimedia tour to support an exhibition. Service design is a relatively young discipline that originated around 20 years ago. With the current exponential growth of complex, often digitally guided services in combination with the recognition of the customer experience as a positive distinguishing factor, service design is growing and evolving rapidly. Service design is increasingly seen as an essential component for business success.
