WordPress is the most used CMS (Content Management System) by websites worldwide, but not all website owners are yet aware of how they can make their WordPress website faster. A fast website is important because fast websites are higher in search results from search engines and because visitors are less likely to leave a fast website. In this guest blog I recommend two plug-ins that can make your WordPress website lightning fast.
WP Fastest Cache
A static page is a page for which no more PHP needs to be used. PHP is a scripting language that makes websites dynamic. This ensures that if you post a new blog post on your WordPress website it will automatically appear on your blog page, without you having to adjust this page.
If you do not use caching, the server will generate the website again for each visitor using PHP. If you have multiple visitors on your website who all use PHP at the same time, this can affect the speed of your website.
WP Fastest Cache prevents the website from having to be regenerated for every visitor with PHP, which means that your website can be loaded faster in collaboration with Autoptimize.
Of course, not only these plug-ins are the solution for making your WordPress website faster. I would like to give you a few tips that will make your website even faster.
- Update to the highest possible PHP version
- Update WordPress to the latest version
- In addition to the above plug-ins, use as few plug-ins as possible. Plug-ins can also considerably slow down your website in addition to speeding up.
- Test the speed of your WordPress website before and after activating the plug-ins and implementing these tips. You can do this best with GTMetrix.
Then one golden tip: mbake backups of your WordPress installation. If something goes wrong, you can easily restore a backup!
