Webinar: artificial intelligence about ethical considerations and standards

On June 30, NEN organizes a webinar about ethics and artificial intelligence (AI) in collaboration with the Future Image Technology Foundation (STT). For example, we will discuss the ethical considerations for AI systems and the international standards that are being developed for the responsible application of AI. You can register for the webinar for free via the website.
During the webinar, future researcher Rudy van Belkom of STT will present the results of his research into ethics and artificial intelligence. He focused on the questions of what ethically responsible use of AI is and how to design AI systems that meet ethical guidelines. Martijn Scheltema and Yvette Mulder, chairman and secretary of the Artificial intelligence & big data standards committee, discuss the role that international standards play in the responsible development and application of AI.
Conversation about ethical considerations
In collaboration with the standards committee Artificial intelligence & big data at NEN and the research group Artificial intelligence at the Hogeschool Utrecht, Van Belkom developed a serious game about ethical considerations: the ethical design game. We present this game during the webinar. This tool allows stakeholders to experience how abstract values are translated into concrete applications and how consensus is reached on complex issues. This reflects the principles of standardization and, in addition to all parties with an interest in AI, is particularly useful for students and researchers of artificial intelligence.
Launch of NEN Platform AI
This webinar is the official start of the NEN Platform AI, which collaborates with the standards committee on issues surrounding AI standards. Members of this platform are aware of new standards and relevant developments in this area at an early stage. They meet twice a year for the exchange of knowledge and are consulted by the standards committee for input and advice. Where influence on standards and access to international committees is reserved for the members of the standards committee, participation in NEN Platform AI means a more accessible way to stay informed and to contribute.
